Description: This course covers fundamental principles of periodontology for the dental hygienist including etiology, histopathology, clinical assessment and an introduction to diagnosis. The course continues with treatment planning, implementation and evaluation of periodontal disease treatment. Students learn how to communicate with patients and other healthcare professionals about treatment provided.
