SL 173 - American Sign Language III Credit Hours: 3 Contact Hours: 3 Prerequisites/Other Requirements: SL 171 (C or Higher) and SL 172 (C or Higher)

Corequisites: None Description: This course is designed to increase knowledge and use of American Sign Language idioms, vocabulary and grammar in a conversational context. Students in this course examine grammatical elements in ASL, and acquire proficiency, receptively and expressively, in the use of an additional 300 ASL signs, 20 ASL idioms and 60 English idioms. Students with previous ASL experience should contact the Department of Language and Thought for information regarding placement.
