Corequisites: None Description: This course is an analysis and description of the developing field of gerontology. It consists of an in-depth study of needs of the elderly such as legal information, social security, tax relief, health, home and personal safety, nutrition and food purchasing, political power, mobilizing grass roots support groups, resources in the community for senior citizens, consumerism, and transportation. Discussions of the institutional interrelations that affect the elderly and analysis of changes needed in American society to aid senior citizens are also included.
