Corequisites: CHM 260 Description: CHM 261 is the first part of a two-semester sequence for those students who require a full year of organic chemistry lab. This course serves mainly those students in pre-pharmacy, pre-dental, pre-medicine, chemical engineering, chemical technology, and chemistry programs. Students are introduced to basic organic laboratory techniques including extraction, distillation, chromatographic techniques, and synthetic methodologies. The use of spectroscopy is introduced as a means of structure determination.
