Corequisites: None Description: In this course students acquire the basic knowledge used by an Electrician, Electrical Maintenance worker, or Mechatronic Technician, including basic electricity, electrical math, National Electrical Code, use of hand tools, electrical materials, wiring techniques and safety. It is recommended that students have college level math skills (completion of MA 98 or Higher or EL 132 ) prior to enrolling in this course.
This course is also delivered in Modules. You must complete each of the modules listed below, in order to receive full credit for the EL 101 course.
EL 101A (Basic Electrical Skills Module A) - An introduction to the basic knowledge required by a field electrician including safety rules,applicable electrical codes, trade math, and electrical theory. This is part one of a two part course, offered as OE/OE at Holland MTEC.
EL 101B (Basic Electrical Skills Module B) - An introduction to the common materials used by electricians or electrical maintenance personnel for the installation of electrical systems as well as the various types of electrical installations, blueprint reading, and circuits. This is part two of a two part course, offered as OE/OE at Holland MTEC.
