Corequisites: None Description: This course will examine the nature, extent, and causes of juvenile delinquency in American society. Special emphasis will be given to adolescent development and the role and impact of the family, community, school, peer groups, social class, and other cultural and social environments impacting the juvenile. Criminological theories will be addressed along with current treatment protocols regarding juvenile offenders. The future of delinquency prevention and control will also be examined.
