Corequisites: None Description: EN 278 is an introduction to literature by women writers in which students may study various genres, historical time periods, classes, races, and nationalities. The course explores the variety of writing styles women have used to think about issues such as the search for identity, power, societal roles, relationships and conflict, marriage, sexuality, treatment as the other, responses to patriarchy, achievement, and daily life. The impact of gender on literature, expression, and experience is considered.
