NUR 102 - Psychosocial Nursing Foundations Credit Hours: 3 Contact Hours: 5 Prerequisites/Other Requirements: PY 201 (C or Higher) and NUR 100 (B- or Higher) or [AD 100 (B- or Higher) and AD 291 (B- or Higher)] and BI 121 (C or Higher) or [GH 125 (C- or Higher) and GH 126 (C- or Higher)]

Corequisites: NUR 101 and BI 122 Description: Mental health and health promotion concepts are introduced and used with the nursing process to promote mental health & bio-psycho-social-spiritual assessment of the client. Students apply communication skills to develop therapeutic relationships in individual and group settings and promote health behavior change. Application of mental health theories to nursing is explored. Clinical experiences are provided in a laboratory setting.
