Description: This is an integrated study of classical transmission genetics and molecular genetics which emphasizes the human organism and draws attention to the evolutionary relatedness of all organisms. Major topics include Mendelian principles, the chromosomal basis of inheritance, the structure and function of DNA, the tools of biotechnology and genomic analysis, and the regulation of gene expression.
